The organized compilation of norms, procedures, actions and recommendations that establish objectives and distribute responsibilities to the different hierarchical levels of a company focuses on the prevention of occupational risks. This research focused on developing a proposal to create a consulting firm specialized in the management and prevention of occupational hazards for metalworking companies in the canton of Quevedo. To achieve this objective, a situational diagnosis was carried out on the importance, influence and management of occupational risks in the metalworking industry. The analysis of occupational risks carried out in the 50 companies was used to evaluate physical, mechanical, chemical, ergonomic, psychosocial and major accident risks. For this purpose, three types of risks were analyzed in the development of the research, covering the possible hazards that could affect the health and safety of workers. The results indicated that moderate risks represent 22% of the presence in the workshops, major risks 34%, and intolerable risks 44%.
