Role-playing as a teaching strategy in intercultural participation education

This study aims to analyze the perception of professors at the Central University of Ecuador regarding the use of role-playing as a teaching strategy to promote active intercultural participation, using a qualitative approach and a Likert scale survey, in order to provide evidence that strengthens intercultural teaching practices at the university level. Higher education faces the challenge of promoting active and genuine intercultural participation in the face of the cultural diversity that exists in its contexts. Interculturality, promoted by organizations such as UNESCO, must go beyond a theoretical construct and be transferred to the classroom in the form of pedagogical practices. In this sense, role-playing is a novel pedagogical approach that stimulates experiential learning, empathy, and commitment.
