This study aimed to develop a mobile application to support facial morphology instruction and evaluate its usability and the immediate change in knowledge among Integral Aesthetics students at Instituto Superior Tecnológico Rumiñahui. A quantitative and applied approach was used, with a one-group pre-experimental pretest-posttest design complemented by a descriptive usability assessment. The application was developed in Android Studio and integrated Face++ for face detection and facial landmark localization. Thirty first-, second-, and third-semester students participated. Knowledge was assessed using a 15-item test administered before and after using the application, while usability was evaluated through a 16-question instrument developed by the authors, whose rating items showed adequate internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.85). The mean score increased from 7.70 points in the pretest (SD = 2.68) to 12.93 points in the posttest (SD = 1.53), with a mean improvement of 5.23 points (95% CI: 4.36–6.11). The difference was statistically significant, t(29) = 12.23, p < .001, with a large effect size (dz = 2.23). Twenty-nine students improved their scores and one maintained the same result. Regarding usability, 93.3% rated the application as easy or very easy to use, 93.3% considered the information useful or very useful, and 83.3% stated that they would recommend it. The findings show favorable usability and an immediate improvement in the assessed knowledge. However, controlled studies with larger samples and follow-up measurements are required.
