Abstract

This research was based on analyzing the integral epidemiological chain in patients suffering from pathologies at the level of the upper and lower airways who were treated at the health center of the institution called Rumi Medic Center in the period November 2023-February 2024, with the aim of carrying out interventions to reduce the prevalence of these diseases. The type of methodology used has a qualitative and quantitative approach applying chi-square and Student's t-tests. A multivariate study was also carried out to identify the risk factors associated with respiratory pathologies.  Statistical analyses indicated that sex significantly influences morbidity and diagnosis of respiratory diseases, while age did not show relevant differences; in addition, interviews with professionals highlighted the importance of comprehensive care, patient education and the influence of social and environmental factors, such as pollution and access to resources, in the evolution of these diseases. In conclusion, effective care requires not only adequate clinical management but also educational interventions and improvements in the infrastructure and resources of the center.
