Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has seriously impacted the world population, with a high rate of morbidity and mortality. Some diseases that this virus has left as a sequel are respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological; skin, gastrointestinal and renal manifestations. Another consequence is the detrimental effect on mental health, causing depression and anxiety. This is due to many factors, one of them economic instability due to lack of employment. Results: from the studies carried out, it was shown that the group of respondents with the most vulnerability is the female sex, of which 45.8% visited a general practitioner due to theacquired sequelae. Conclusion: Epidemiological studies are needed to further investigate thelong-term impact of this disease. This review summarizes the current evidence on the effects and describes the possible long-term sequelae of COVID-19. Although there are already different types of vaccines, it is humanity's obligation to continue with bio-safety protocols.
