The COVID-19 pandemic generated a high incidence of cases in the province of Pichincha, particularly in the Metropolitan District of Quito, where hospitals were at the limit of their capacity. Therefore, nursing professionals reorganized the spaces and their actions to care. to the sick, this research aims to understand, from interpretive phenomenology, the experiences of these professionals who cared for patients with COVID-19. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was adopted, using the hermeneutic phenomenological method, following Spielberg's stages. Three nursing professionals were interviewed, applying a guide with two key questions. The information analysis was carried out through triangulation and categorization. Among the Findings, two categories emerged: "nursing care" and "Responsibility in nursing care." Nursing care was divided into two dimensions: technical care, focused on physical-biological needs, and invisible care, aimed at the patient's emotional, communicational, spiritual, and safety needs. Responsibility was understood as a conscious and ethical act, guided by principles of autonomy, justice, beneficence and non-maleficence, aligned with the undergraduate training of nurses.
