Efficiency Analysis in Companies of the economic sub-sector "Wholesale of pharmaceutical products, including veterinary products", applying the DEA method year 2020

This investigation was structured based on the information of the main financial statements according to the data published on the website of the Superintendence of Companies of Ecuador. Information on the economic activities conducted was reviewed, considering a scenario affected by the pandemic generated by COVID 19. The methodology used to establish the efficiency in the use of resources is the DEA data envelopment analysis. In the information of the Superintendence of Companies of Ecuador corresponding to the year 2020, specifically of medium and small companies, as well as micro-enterprises, it was possible to verify the behavior of data related to assets, equity and profits in US dollars, with the in order to review the efficiency in the use of assets and liabilities to generate profits in the economic units, considering the review of those that are within the economic subsector "Wholesale of pharmaceutical products, including veterinary products". In conclusion, 3% of the companies analyzed at the national level present efficiency in the use of their assets and equity for the generation of net profits.
