Prevalence and psychological guidance for the management of anxiety in the personnel of the fire department of the Gualaceo-Azuay canton, 2024

The presence of anxiety in first responders is a situation that can directly influence the proper development of the functions of this population, which is so relevant and necessary in terms of the safety and integrity of society. To manage this research and linkage project, we worked with the twenty-five firefighters between volunteers and paid of the Personnel of the Fire Department of the Gualaceo Canton. To determine the presence or not of anxiety in the study population, the IDARE test was used as a State, and later, after the significant results obtained, a Guide for the management of this emotional state was created, which has 6 psychological-practical exercises at a physiological, cognitive and emotional level. The application of the IDARE test was anonymous and voluntary, for the record the process was carried out under an informed consent to each of the participants. As a final activity, the guide was delivered and socialized in a theoretical-practical way to the personnel of the Fire Department of the Gualaceo Canton; promoting mental and comprehensive health care.
