Abstract

Overweight and obesity are due to the excessive accumulation of fat in the body; being overweight occurs when the calories ingested exceed the calories consumed. Assessment of overweight is important in adolescents.

In the research carried out on the group of adolescents, 65.5% of their diet was based on junk food and sweetener drinks, an additional 46.9% performed only 30 minutes of exercise, thus, a high value in the lack of physical activity.

Almost all the factors associated with obesity in adolescence are related to lifestyle. That is why we recommend a good early education regarding eating habits, balanced diets that are responsible for offering the vitamins and minerals necessary for the body. The teaching of doing some physical activity or the practice of a sport that helps you stay healthy and in good shape, also the idealization and habit from an early age so that in the future sport will be a habit.
